Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are injectable dermal fillers used to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours by replenishing hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that supports skin hydration and elasticity; their effects are temporary, adjustable, and generally well tolerated.
Common HA fillers include the JUVÉDERM® family, such as JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC for midface and cheek volume, and the Restylane® family, which offers formulations for different facial areas and depths. These products are valued for their smooth consistency, predictable results, and reversibility.
Other volumizing injectables used for similar indications include Radiesse®, a calcium hydroxylapatite–based filler that provides immediate volume and stimulates collagen, and Sculptra®, a poly-L-lactic acid–based biostimulatory injectable that gradually improves volume by promoting the body’s own collagen production.
